Cruising to Hawaii on Royal Caribbean

Someone asked me at work if I was excited to be hopping on Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas on Friday. I took a moment to consider my response.

At first, I thought I’d try to play the trip to Hawaii down and suggest it’s not different from coming into work. Or maybe suggest that I’m travelling with family and therefore it won’t be too much fun. Heck, just last week there were three different hurricanes hanging out in the Pacific Ocean so I thought I could play the scared card.

But I’ve never been a good liar.

As excited as I am for this trip, it’s also the first venture where Topher Travels is a thing and that has me just as excited. While my primary, secondary and tertiary goals on board the Radiance is to have fun while maintaining a modest level of “chill,” I will make sure to find time to put a few notes down on paper so I can in turn share my experiences with all of you stuck at home.

Maybe I’ll spend a moment or two blogging in the Centrum (as seen below). Or quite possibly near the pool while I bask in the sun? How about blogging from my balcony as we ply through the animated waters of the Pacific – has anyone done that?

Now whether or not you’ll see posts regularly while I’m on board is another story. There will be a few “non-trip” related posts I already have scheduled in the can, but with onboard WiFi pushing $20USD per day for unlimited “dial-up-ish” speeds, I haven’t convinced myself that it’s worth the expense.

Well, that’s also a lie – I have convinced myself many times to pay. I’ve just convinced myself shortly thereafter the expense ain’t worth it. Oh the life of a traveller.

Talk to me Goose!
